TERRASTA was conceived as a mixed-use facility that blends into the daily life of its neighborhood. By layering commercial, lodging, and social programs, we aimed to create a place open to the city that would grow over time. Rather than dividing space by use, the architecture is organized around terraces arranged like stages, so that movement and sightlines cross gently. The intention is for the everyday moments of visitors to shape the character of the place. The hotel floors were planned as calm spaces that respond to Miyakonojo's rich natural setting. The top-floor suite includes a courtyard, bringing in light, wind, and greenery to create a stay that flows between inside and out.
